Project Details:

Bob Greasley was the owner of the Rochdale Turf Farm, and part of the council conditions to turn it into a housing estate, was to revegetate 23 hectares as a buffer zone to protect the integrity of local bushland. What I like about this project is, it was basically a bloke, with a tractor and few implements, doing it himself. Following my guidance with regards to site preparation, species selection, and seeding technique, the results have been really good. At the time there were cracks in the ground 70 mm wide from the on-going drought. The cost of seed for this project was 21 c per square metre, with 19 species seeded. All species have been identified, with several recruitments from soil stored seed.
